§ 50-1. Discharge of firearms within the area of Bella Vista Property Owners Association.

  • (a)

    Within the area of the Bella Vista Property Owners Association (BVVPOA), the discharge of firearms is prohibited. The term "firearm" is defined as a weapon which will expel a projectile by the action of an explosion.

    (b)

    Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit:

    (1)

    The discharge of a firearm in the defense of life or property;

    (2)

    The discharge of a firearm at a public or private shooting range or gallery; or

    (3)

    The discharge of a firearm by a law enforcement officer in the performance of his duty.

    (c)

    The BVVPOA shall furnish and cause to be erected at the point of entry of BVVPOA jurisdiction on each federal or state highway and/or county road, signs advising citizens of the intent of this section, the size and wordage, front and back, to be determined by county legal counsel.
